Because of discrepancies between the rendering pipeline, there are certain differences that can surface when switching between CPU and GPU.
The major cases this disparity has been found are when:
- Working with Shadowlets in 32bpc comps, in which case switching to 16bpc resolves the issue.
- Shadowlets on particles with blend mode set to Add, Normal Add over Life or Normal Screen over Life may show a disparity between CPU and GPU Direct. The difference becomes less apparent when working with 16 bpc and 32bpc.
- Star particles with a small particle size (4 or below) may not be as crisp in GPU Streaming. To workaround this, work in CPU or GPU Direct modes.
