When will the Red Giant Application Manager be replaced by Maxon App?
Maxon App will replace the Red Giant Application Manager by end of October 2022. If you are still using Red Giant Application Manager, you will be logged out when your current session ends. At that point, authenticating and licensing verification will be available only through Maxon App.
Why are you replacing the Red Giant Application Manager with Maxon App?
Maxon App is the successor of Red Giant Application Manager and provides a more stable user experience as well as access to all of Maxon One. Maxon App will also allow you to start a 14-day trial that provides access to Cinema 4D, Redshift, ZBrush, and all Red Giant products.
We continuously work on improving Maxon App providing regular updates containing bug fixes and feature improvements. Therefore, Maxon App is better equipped to serve your needs than Red Giant Application Manager.
How can I update to Maxon App?
You can download the latest version of Maxon App from our website and install it.
Do I have to uninstall Red Giant Application Manager before installing Maxon App?s
No, Maxon App installer will take care of that step for you.
I still have Link installed on my device; will this affect my ability to update to Maxon App?
No, Maxon App installer will take care of removing Link from your device.
What happens if I get logged off from the Red Giant Application Manager and don’t remember my log-in credentials?
If you don’t remember your password, then enter your email address in the log-in page, click Sign In and then select forgot password. Reset your password and you should be good to go. If you don’t remember the email address under which you have your licenses, please contact global support.
I am an enterprise customer using the Red Giant Application Manager, will this change impact me and my production environment?
This depends on your licensing setup.
If you are using Red Giant Application Manager in an RLM environment, you will not be impacted by the replacement of Red Giant Application Manager with RLM. You can continue to use Red Giant Application Manager as you have been with your current license.
If you wish to update to Maxon App you will need to consider the impact to your RLM licenses:
- If you are working with RLM licenses generated before April 20th, 2022 (non-unified RLM licenses), then please install Maxon App 2.1.2. Newer Maxon App versions will not work with non-unified RLM license files.
- If you have an RLM license generated after April 20th, 2022 (unified RLM licenses), please download the latest version of the Maxon App.
If you would like the latest capabilities of the Maxon App, please request a new set of RLM license files under the new unified ISV through our customer support.
If you use Red Giant Application Manager in combination with My.Maxon you will have to update to Maxon App so you can continue using your Maxon products. Please contact global support [url = https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center] if you need help transitioning to Maxon App.
What will happen to my installed products once I update to Maxon App?
Your installed products will not be affected by the update to Maxon App.
What will happen to my licenses once I update to Maxon App?
Your licenses are linked to your account; therefore, they will continue to be available in Maxon App. Only if you have Red Giant licenses you purchased before January 1st, 2021 you will have to add the serial numbers to your account manually one more time.
Can I use old versions of my products that worked with Red Giant Application Manager with Maxon App?
Any version of the products you used that worked with Red Giant Application Manager will also work with Maxon App. You can find installation details in this article.
