Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use my license on more than one machine?

While you cannot use a single license on multiple machines at the same time, you can install Cinema 4D R21 on as many machines as you would like. If you do this, though, you'll notice that, on the new machine, Cinema 4D will tell you that the maximum number of licenses on your account has been exceeded.

Not to worry! To fix this all you need to do is release your license. Here's how you do that:

  1. First, click on the Licenses section of your Maxon Account tab in the License Manager
  2. Next, click "Release" next to your license.
  3. That's it!

Once you do this it will release your license from the other machine and then enable it on the machine you're using now. You should see something like this when it works properly:

Once you see this just go back to the Status page to check that your license is properly checked out, and click OK, then you're all set! It should look something like this:

You can do this as many times as you'd like, whenever you'd like, from whichever machine you'd like. This makes it incredibly easy to use your license on multiple computers without having to worry about whether or not you freed it up before you stopped working on another machine!
