Maxon One Student License: Eligibility, Application, and other FAQs

What does a Maxon One Student License include?

A Maxon One Student provides access to nearly all of Maxon's products, tools, and training. This means you'll have access to a comprehensive creative suite of industry-standard tools including: Cinema 4D, Red Giant, Redshift, ZBrush, ZBrush for iPad, Capsules Limited, and Maxon training resources.

Who is eligible for the Maxon One Student License?

The Maxon One Student License is available to anyone who meets all of these requirements:

• Is currently enrolled in a university, college, or other educational institutions
• Is aged 16 years or older
• Has never purchased a Maxon commercial (i.e. non-student) subscription or license

The Maxon One Student License is intended for personal learning purposes by students enrolled in accredited universities, colleges, or educational institutions. It cannot be used for commercial work.

What do I need to provide when applying for a Maxon One Student License?

The verification process for students may require you to provide:

• First and last name as shown on school records
• Birthdate
• School name
• School email
• School-issued documentation that shows your current enrollment
• Student ID or comparable 
• A mobile phone
• An official ID document (e.g. passport, driver's license)

How long does a Maxon One Student License last?

The Maxon One Student License is valid for one year from the date of payment. Once the year has lapsed, you will need to re-verify your student status.

How do I renew a Maxon One Student License?

Because a Maxon One Student License does not auto-renew, it needs to be manually renewed by re-verifying your student status. Once you have re-verified, you may repurchase the license, granting you another year of access.

An email is sent to you prior to the license expiration reminding you of this requirement. 

Are there any limitations to using a Maxon One Student License?

A Maxon One Student License can only be activated on one computer at a time and can not be used for commercial purposes. Using the license for commercial purposes may result in an immediate termination.

What is the pricing structure for the Maxon One Student License?

The Maxon One Student License is a one-time charge and remains valid for one year from the date of purchase.

What if I encounter an issue during the student verification process for a Maxon One Student License?

Because SheerID is used for the verification process, any issues encountered during the student verification process will need to be handled through SheerID's support team. 

This includes:

• Your college, university, or academic institution is not listed
• Troubleshooting any SheerID form errors.
• Verification denials

What happens if the license is misused for commercial purposes?

Any suspected commercial or other misuse of the Maxon One Student License may result in the immediate termination of the license.
