Error: Effect Missing / My effect is not appearing in the Effects menu after installation

Missing effects in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere is often resolved by re-enabling them in the Effects Manager.

This issue typically occurs after a project file crashed and the user was presented with an option upon re-opening the project to disable effects in an effort to assist with troubleshooting.

Before proceeding, first check that the effect is compatible with the host in question.

• Option 1: Open your Effects Manager and check that the missing effect is enabled. The Effect Manager is located in the Effects panel's menu > Manage Video Effects (Premiere) or Manage Effects (After Effects)

• Option 2: Reset your Premiere Pro or After Effects preferences:
  • Premiere Pro: Reset and Restore Preferences
  • After Effects: Setting Preferences in After Effects

If neither option helps, open a support ticket and let us know if the effects appear in your MediaCore folder, located at:

• Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/
• Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\
