*Update* for Cinema 4D 2024.2 and newer

When opening a project, missing fonts are now reported in a warning dialog. You can also review them in the Project Asset Inspector.
You can access the Project Asset Inspector under the Window menu (Window > Project Asset Inspector)

Problem

Text does not render correctly with Team Render because one or more machines do not have the required fonts installed.

Solutions

Choose one of the following:

  1. Install the fonts on all Team Render clients
Make sure every machine in the farm has the exact fonts used in the scene installed. Restart Team Render clients after installation.
  2. Make the Text object editable
If you do not need procedural text, convert it to geometry so fonts are no longer required at render time:
    • Select the Text object.
    • Press C or click Make Editable.

Converting text to polygons removes the font dependency. If you must keep text procedural, install the fonts on all machines instead.

Notes

  • In mixed OS farms (Windows and macOS), fonts with the same family name can still differ slightly and produce variations. Test a small frame range before running a full render.
  • You can use the Project Asset Inspector to identify missing fonts before submitting to Team Render.
