Problem:
When I open Cinema 4D I get a license error even though I just activated a Maxon One Trial License.
Solution:
There are a few reasons this could be happening, but one of the most common is not using the latest version of Cinema 4D.
If you are not using the latest version of Cinema 4D you can update via the Maxon App or with the stand-alone installer found HERE.
If you are using the latest version and still having issues with your trial license, please open a support ticket by clicking HERE.
*Important Update About Trial Licenses*
- Trial licenses cannot be released, transferred, or assigned to another machine. Once activated, they are permanently tied to the computer where it was activated.
- A trial license will not override an active commercial license. For example, if you have a Cinema 4D license assigned and want to try Maxon One, you must first release the Cinema 4D license so you can use the Maxon One trial license.
-
All other license types still include the option to Release, Assign, and **Transfer as needed.
**Transferring licenses was added in the 2025.0.0 version of the Maxon App.
*Please note that the most current versions of the Maxon App can be found here, at the top of the page, or can be upgraded via the Maxon App itself when prompted an update is available after opening from the Maxon App notification banner at the top.
