Compatibility issues of Redshift Nodes with Cinema 4D R21/S22

Problem:

From Cinema 4D R25 and newer, Redshift nodes (not shader graphs) contained in the scene can lead to projects in R21/S22 not being able to be opened correctly and an incorrect file structure being reported.

This only affects projects in which new Redshift nodes are used and these cannot be correctly recognised in Cinema 4D R21/S22.

Due to the age of Cinema 4D R21/S22, it is no longer possible to make adjustments to these versions.

Possible solutions:

  • Delete the corresponding Redshift nodes from the file before passing on the project.
  • Open such files with Cinema 4D R23 or newer to avoid the issue.

Note:

Although you can still transfer projects created with the current version to older versions, you will lose all new functions and changes that are not included in the previous versions.
