Important Notes
By default, Cinema 4D 2025.3 will install to the folder “Maxon Cinema 4D 2025” and will replace any installation already there. This is intentional in order to minimize the number of builds customers need to manage, minimize migration of prefs and plugins, reduce overall disk usage and help ensure you’re always on the latest release. You can of course customize the installation path if you’d like to maintain a separate installation of each dot release. If you need a prior release installer, visit the downloads page.
System Requirements remain the same as C4D 2025.0, except for the following two changes:
- Minimum supported Windows 10 version is now 22H2
- AI Search is not supported on Intel Macs.
New Features
General Enhancements
- Spline Primitives now come with handles for interactive adjustment of parameters in the Viewport.
Liquids
- New GPU-based liquid simulation type added
- Generate liquid particles with the Liquid Fill emitter or turn regular particles into liquids using the Liquify Modifier
- Compatible with existing particle modifiers and forces
- Liquid Mesher for generating and refining a surface from liquid particles
UV Tools
- Seamless UDIM support in the UV editor to visualize, create, import and manage UV elements.
- UV grid expands infinitely beyond the 0,1 UV range
- UV tile coordinates are displayed in the UV viewport
- UV tiles are now outlined and are tinted differently when they are invalid
- UV tile commands to rotate, move UV elements and directly place selected elements directly into a specific tile
- Double click empty space in a UV tile selects all elements within the tile
- Texel Density (px/unit) is now supported with a dedicated set of tools to get, set and match texel density across elements, tiles, and objects
- Presets for Map Size and Texel Density allow you quickly set up common values across your UV elements
- UV packing supports working with multiple tiles, respecting scale and texel density, and offers more control over orientation
- Ability to pack UVs to specific tiles
- Additional options added for handling packing of multiple objects
Project Asset Inspector
- Project Asset Inspector has been updated to recognize and handle UDIM tokens in texture file path
AI Search
- New AI-based search functionality in the Asset Browser and various other places where assets are referenced.
- Offers search through text prompts, images or even based on the contents of your viewport.
- AI Search is executed locally and respects your privacy and confidentiality needs. No assets are shared with Maxon or used for training.
- Supports Maxon’s Capsule assets, as well as your own assets library.
Laubwerk Integration
- The Laubwerk Plant Object and the LBW Importer are now a native part of Cinema 4D.
- Plant assets avavailable through the Cinema 4D Asset Browser have been updated to now be fully procedural and allow access to all age and season variations as well as offering level of detail and disply/render settings.
- Previously purchased assets will continue to work.
Known Issues
- Laubwerk textures: Selecting plant species directly from the plant object may cause texture display issues on windows.
- Workaround: To avoid this issue, use the Asset Browser to select and place the desired plant species.
- c4dpy halting: c4dpy may halt indefinitely when run for the first time
- Workaround: Pass g_disableConsoleOutput=false to the c4dpy executable. This only needs to be done once to resolve the issue. A more detailed description can be found in the Cinema 4D 2025.3 Python SDK documentation.
