What’s New

Autograph 2027.0.0 introduces groundbreaking workflow automation and ecosystem connectivity, headlined by a built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows AI agents to assist artists with tedious and repetitive tasks and orchestrate joint workflows alongside Cinema 4D. This release also establishes seamless copy-and-paste interoperability for some 3D elements from Cinema 4D into Autograph’s 3D compositing space.

In addition, artists benefit from a fully dockable Maxon Studio panel, direct Adobe Fonts support, bidirectional Rich Text and Plain Text synchronization, deeper vertical text and Japanese typography tools (including Tate-Chuu-Yoko), expanded Tile modifier options, and a fresh suite of broadcast-ready demo projects.

Highlights

  • MCP Server (AI Agent Integration): Autograph now embeds a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, enabling AI agents (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to act as creative assistants, automated project builders, or interactive tutors. Agents can construct compositions, leverage native interpolators (such as Bounce and Elastic), build responsive design layouts, or control both Autograph and Cinema 4D simultaneously for automated 2D/3D multi-app pipelines.
  • Direct Copy/Paste from Cinema 4D: Effortlessly bridge Cinema 4D and Autograph by copying 3D cameras, lights, nulls, and compatible primitives directly into Autograph’s 3D workspace. This provides a unified workflow between Redshift rendering and Autograph’s real-time compositing environment while preserving animation keyframes and animation.
  • Dockable Maxon Studio Panel: Maxon Studio is now fully integrated as a native dockable panel within the Autograph interface rather than a floating window, offering streamlined, single-screen access to Red Giant tools and presets without interrupting your workspace layout.
  • Adobe Fonts Integration: Access and apply your entire library of Adobe Fonts installed through the Creative Cloud desktop application directly within the Autograph Text Panel, alongside improved font discovery across Windows systems.
  • Text Generator Synchronization: Seamlessly switch between Rich Text and Plain Text modes without losing content or having to retype copy. Property inheritance is automatic: converting from Rich to Plain applies the first character’s styling across the entire block, while Plain to Rich preserves all shared character attributes.
  • Advanced Vertical Text & Japanese Typography: Expands vertical text capabilities with Tate-Chuu-Yoko (horizontal numbers inside vertical runs with automatic column spacing), mouse and keyboard column-aware cursor navigation, Text Box support with automatic column flow conversion, LTR/RTL column flow toggles, and improved character alignment.
  • Versatile Tile Modifier: Generate complex repeating patterns and infinite strips with new distribution and orientation modes, including single-axis clamping (horizontal or vertical) and discrete copy count controls.
  • Broadcast-Focused Demo Projects: Explore new production-ready demo projects accessible directly from the Welcome Screen, showcasing multi-format delivery (16:9, 4:3, and vertical 9:16), and native 2D/3D motion graphics tailored for news and sports broadcast workflows.

Bug Fixes

  • The vertical text would crash when edited after clearing the cache
  • Scaling an object using the blue rectangle wasn't working correctly when using the proxy system.
  • Renaming a modifier prevented multiple selection using the Alt key in the Selection Overview
  • The motion path on a duplicated (shared) layer whose position is unshare were offset
  • Deleting a spatial keyframe using ‘Broken’ interpolation didn't preserve the tangent
  • Some HEVC videos were not playing in Autograph
  • 3D gizmos weren’t always visible
  • The colour picker would sometimes stop working when using 3D objects in a composition.
  • Follow Path: ‘Repeat’ mode wasn't working correctly with negative values
  • Some fonts installed on Windows were not detected by Autograph
  • Text fonts were sometimes not reassigned correctly after saving or reloading a project
  • The vertical text was sometimes rendered outside the text area
  • Selection Tool was sometimes broken for compositions in Vertical format
  • Text on a path didn't work properly when switching to ‘Plain Text’ mode
  • The ‘Multi-Edit’ tool didn't work on Generator parameters
  • The Welcome page sometimes contained nothing at all
  • The “Distance Field” Modifier in Luminance mode was broken
  • The crash reporting tool was not always available on Windows
  • The ‘Switch’ entries could not be deleted
  • 2D/3D mismatch when using the proxy format
  • Connecting a Generator to a ‘Speed Multiplier’ param crashed Autograph
  • Square or vertical formats resulted in an incorrect default camera position in 3D
  • The ‘Text Box' options didn't exist in the 'Text' shape generator
  • Unlit materials in Autograph using the 'VSM shadow' type caused Filament to crash.
  • Linking a 'List Directory' generator to a composition duration, via a 'Bind to Table' Generator, was not working.
  • Project Panel: some items might disappear after sorting
  • The ‘Time Offset’ modifier had no effect if ‘Follow Time’ was enabled
  • Autograph’s user interface was transparent when using the secondary slot in the Viewer
  • Applying a mask to an ‘adjustment layer’ caused the rendering engine to crash
  • ‘Voronoise’ generated holes or circular cells instead of the Voronoi pattern when U > 0.0
