Supercomp pulls the color information from the layers it's given into a linear space in an effort to better compile and integrate the color information it's given between layers.
Typically there is not much of a discernible difference before and after this change, with the exception being when alpha (transparency) information is involved. If alpha information is in a layer used within Supercomp and the alpha channel is mixed closely with darker colors, those darker colors will appear lighter after switching to a linear space within Supercomp.
