If your system meets the requirements for Optical Glow and doesn't appear to be applying properly (typically not applying at all), it could be related to the plugin's OpenCL cache, which will need to be manually flushed by following these steps:
- Close whichever program you're using Optical Glow in.
- Delete the OpenCL file:
- Mac
- Head into Finder and select Go > Go to Folder
- Type or paste in
~/Library/Application Supportand click Go - Find and delete the
com.redgiant.vfx.opticalglow-aefile at this location
- Windows
- Press your Windows key + R to open the Run command window
- Type or paste in
%localappdata%followed by OK - Find and delete the
com.redgiant.vfx.opticalglow-aefile at this location
- Mac
- Re-launch After Effects and re-apply the plugin.
