If your system meets the requirements for Optical Glow and doesn't appear to be applying properly (typically not applying at all), it could be related to the plugin's OpenCL cache, which will need to be manually flushed:
- Close whichever program you're using Optical Glow in.
- Delete the OpenCL file:
- On Macs, head into Finder and select Go > Go to Folder, then type or paste in
~/Library/Application Support
and click Go. Once there, find and delete thecom.redgiant.vfx.opticalglow-ae
file present at this location - On Windows, press your Windows key + R to open the Run command window, then type or paste in
%localappdata%
followed by OK. Once there, find and delete thecom.redgiant.vfx.opticalglow-ae
file at this location.
- On Macs, head into Finder and select Go > Go to Folder, then type or paste in
- Re-launch After Effects and re-apply the plugin.
