Cinema 4D R25 user interface updates

Cinema 4D R25 introduces a refreshed user interface with redesigned icons and a new standard layout. Several areas were moved to improve discoverability and speed.

  • Document tabs make it easy to switch between open projects.
  • Layout switching is available via dedicated buttons, with an option to switch to the classic layout.
  • The Commander has a prominent icon for quick search across objects, tools, and commands.
  • Modes, Solo, and Snap controls are now centered along the top bar.
  • Creation tools are grouped along the right side of the viewport.
  • The Dynamic Palette on the left shows context‑sensitive tools based on your current selection.

Hot Corner managers

First introduced with the Asset Browser in S24, fold‑out managers are expanded in R25 to all four viewport corners. Click a corner icon to open its manager; close it to reclaim viewport space.

Situated around the 4 corners of the viewport are new manager icons. These can be activated individually to bring up the corresponding manager.

  • Asset Browser (red)
  • Material Manager (blue)
  • Timeline (purple)
  • Coordinate Manager (orange)

This approach maximizes viewport space when managers are not needed, while keeping key tools one click away.
