How to Use Redshift

ZBrush 2023 introduces the first steps toward Redshift integration in ZBrush.  It currently takes the form of a Bridge that operates similarly to how the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge functions.  The difference is that instead of opening a Redshift window, it brings the Redshift render data directly back into ZBrush.

This means that for Redshift rendering to work, you must also have Redshift installed.

To use Redshift with ZBrush 2023, please use the Maxon App to install Redshift.  You will then be able to use Redshift rendering as an option in ZBrush.

Please note that your use of Redshift will depend on what you own:

  • Redshift in ZBrush is a ZBrush 2023 feature and cannot be used by older ZBrush versions.
  • Maxon One subscribers receive all Maxon products.  This includes use of Redshift GPU.
  • ZBrush subscribers have Redshift CPU.  To receive Redshift GPU you would also have to purchase a Redshift subscription or upgrade to Maxon One.
  • ZBrush 2023 perpetual license users have the Redshift Bridge as that is a part of ZBrush 2023.  However, you will need to purchase a Redshift subscription in order to use that feature.
Again, this is just like how the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge was implemented. The Bridge is free to all users, but to use KeyShot rendering it's necessary to purchase a KeyShot license separately.

Thank you.
