The ZBrush Diagnostic Utility collects technical information about your ZBrush installation and system environment.
Diagnostic reports are often helpful when investigating:
- Crashes
- Freezes or hangs
- Unexpected behavior
- Suspected bugs
- Stability issues
In many cases, the report allows Maxon Technical Support to identify issues more quickly than troubleshooting based on descriptions alone.
Generate the Report
- Close ZBrush.
- Open your ZBrush installation folder.
Open:
Troubleshoot HelpLaunch:
ZBrush Diagnostic Utility- Wait for the utility to finish collecting information.
- The report will be generated automatically and the report folder will open.
Report Location
Windows
C:\Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData\supportmacOS
/Users/Shared/ZBrushData202X/support(↑Replace 202X with your installed ZBrush version.)
- Attach the generated report to your support ticket.
What Information Is Included?
The report may include:
- ZBrush version
- Installation location
- Operating system information
- CPU and memory information
- Installation consistency checks
- Crash logs (if available)
Crash logs can help identify the actions that occurred immediately before a crash.
What Information Is NOT Included?
The report does not include:
- Your project files
- Your models or artwork
- Canvas contents
- Personally identifiable information
Privacy
The Diagnostic Utility only collects information when you manually run it.
No information is sent to Maxon automatically. The report is only shared with Maxon if you choose to attach it to a support ticket.
