If the ZModeler window opens with part of it off-screen (usually cut off at the top of the screen), this is always due to a display issue. However, it can occur in two different ways:
- Check to ensure that your display resolution meets or exceeds the minimum requirement for ZBrush. (1280x1024) If your resolution is any smaller than this, it will not be possible for the ZBrush UI to behave properly. That includes ZModeler. You must upgrade your display (and possibly graphics card) to have the necessary space.
- If your display is 1280x1024 or higher, your operating system's scaling feature can cause this issue. For example, on Windows it can be triggered by the system's Accessibility settings or High DPI Scaling. On Mac it can be caused by the Zoom Factor. Either way, the result is that the default button size in ZBrush is being scaled up which in turn makes the ZModeler UI too big to fit where it belongs. The solution in this case is either:
- Turn off the UI scaling (such as by right-clicking on the ZBrush desktop shortcut, choosing Properties and then going to the Compatibility tab).
- Adjust the Buttons Size slider in ZBrush itself. This slider is found in Preferences >> Interface >> UI . After adjusting the slider setting you need to save your UI Configuration (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + I) and restart ZBrush. It may take a few tries to find the magic number for your display.
