Sculptris Pro is not compatible with certain Auto Masking features.
When options such as Backface Masking are enabled in the Brush > Auto Masking palette, Sculptris Pro will automatically disable itself. This is because dynamic topology requires full control over mesh tessellation, and some Auto Masking functions interfere with how geometry is recalculated during each stroke.
If you load a custom brush and find that Sculptris Pro cannot be enabled, check the following:
Select the brush.
Open Brush > Auto Masking.
Ensure that features such as Backface Masking or other active Auto Masking options are turned off.
After disabling incompatible Auto Masking settings, you should be able to re-enable Sculptris Pro.
If Sculptris Pro still cannot be enabled, verify that the brush is not using incompatible Stroke types such as Drag Dot or Drag Rect.
