Certain stroke types are not compatible with Sculptris Pro.
Specifically, Drag Dot and Drag Rect stroke modes cannot function while Sculptris Pro is enabled. These stroke types rely on pre-calculated mesh behavior that conflicts with Sculptris Pro’s dynamic topology system.
If you select a brush that uses Drag Dot or Drag Rect, ZBrush will automatically disable Sculptris Pro.
In some cases, you may switch the Stroke type to a compatible mode such as Freehand and then manually re-enable Sculptris Pro. However, many brushes that are designed for Drag-based strokes are not intended to work with dynamic topology and may not behave correctly even after switching.
Move Brush and Sculptris Pro
The standard Move brush is also not compatible with Sculptris Pro. Because Move performs large vertex displacement without respecting dynamic tessellation rules, it cannot operate correctly in Sculptris Pro mode.
If you need similar functionality while using Sculptris Pro, use the Snake Hook brush instead. Snake Hook is designed to work with dynamic topology and can stretch and pull geometry while allowing Sculptris Pro to add polygons as needed.
