The "Maxon Services Unavailable" error can typically be resolved by using the Repair Service button.

If that fails, try following these suggestions:

  • Suggestion 1: Restart your machine. This stops and starts a background process that should be running and may resolve the error.
  • Suggestion 2: Wipe the Maxon App from your system and attempt a reinstall. This can be done using the uninstall scripts included alongside the Maxon App.
    1. Be logged in as an administrator. You likely are if you are the only user on the machine.
    2. Navigate to and run the uninstaller scripts on your machine
      • Windows users:
        1. Open a File Explorer window
        2. Type or paste in this file path in the top address bar: C:\Program Files\Maxon\Tools\
        3. Right-click uninstall-appmanager.bat and select Run as Administrator
        4. Right-click uninstall-maxon-service.bat and select Run as Administrator
      • Mac users:
        1. Open a Finder window
        2. Head to Go > Go to Folder in the top menu bar
        3. Type or paste in /Library/Application Support/Maxon/Tools/ and hit Go
        4. Head to Applications > Utilities > Terminal to open a Terminal window
        5. Drag uninstall-appmanager into the Terminal window and hit Enter
        6. Supply your computer password if prompted and hit Enter
        7. Drag uninstall-maxon-service into the Terminal window and hit Enter
        8. Supply your computer password if prompted and hit Enter
    3. Re-download and reinstall the Maxon App

If you still have this issue after completing all the above steps, please reach out to Maxon App Technical Support via a troubleshooting ticket and we'll go from there.
