This article walks through how to silently deploy the Maxon App and Cinema 4D to Mac workstations using Jamf Pro, with Maxon App licensing configured automatically. Four deployment options are covered. Pick the one that matches what you want installed and whether you want the administrator to sign in for the user or have each user sign in with their own account. Each option below expands to show its script parameters and step-by-step setup.

Prerequisites

  • At least 40 GB of free disk space on each target machine
  • Reliable internet access
  • Jamf Pro administrator access

+Option 1: Maxon App and Cinema 4D with auto sign-in

This method silently installs the Maxon App and Cinema 4D, signs in with the provided credentials using a tokenized password, and configures Cinema 4D to pull its license from the Maxon App automatically. Use this for managed workstations where you want users up and running without any manual sign-in step.

Script parameters

When uploading the script, configure the following Jamf parameters:

  • Parameter 4: Maxon Email (required)
  • Parameter 5: Maxon Password (required, tokenized)
  • Parameter 6: Maxon App version (default: 2026.4.0)
To install a different version such as 2025.4.2, enter "2025.4.2".
  • Parameter 7: Cinema 4D version (default: 2026.1.4)
To install a different version such as 2025.3.3, enter "2025.3.3".

Steps

  1. Download and extract the zip: Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App + C4D with Auto-Login).zip
  2. In Jamf Pro, go to Settings → Computer Management → Scripts → New.
  3. Upload the Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App + C4D with Auto-Login).sh script.
  4. Add the parameter labels listed above.
  5. Create a new policy under Computers → Policies → New, then:
    • Under Scripts, add Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App + C4D with Auto-Login).sh.
    • Set the parameters (see Script parameters above).
    • Scope the policy to the desired group or groups.
  6. Save and run the policy.
Result The Maxon App is installed and signed in with the provided credentials, and Cinema 4D is deployed silently with Maxon App licensing configured automatically. End users can launch Cinema 4D without any sign-in prompts.
+Option 2: Maxon App and Cinema 4D WITHOUT auto sign-in

This method silently installs both the Maxon App and Cinema 4D, but does not perform any automatic account sign-in. Cinema 4D is patched to pull its license from the Maxon App, so once the end user signs in to the Maxon App manually, Cinema 4D will license itself automatically. Use this for environments where you want the software installed but require users to authenticate using their individual credentials.

Script parameters

When uploading the script, configure the following Jamf parameters:

  • Parameter 4: Maxon App version (default: 2026.4.0)
To install a different version such as 2025.4.2, enter "2025.4.2".
  • Parameter 5: Cinema 4D version (default: 2026.2.0)
To install a different version such as 2025.3.3, enter "2025.3.3".
  • Parameter 6: Install Maxon App GUI (default: 1)
Enter "1" to install the GUI, or "0" to skip it.

Steps

  1. Download and extract the zip:  Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App + C4D without Auto-Login).zip
  2. In Jamf Pro, go to Settings → Computer Management → Scripts → New.
  3. Upload the Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App + C4D without Auto-Login).sh script.
  4. Add the parameter labels listed above.
  5. Create a new policy under Computers → Policies → New, then:
    • Under Scripts, add Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App + C4D without Auto-Login).sh.
    • Set the parameters (see Script parameters above).
    • Scope the policy to the desired group or groups.
  6. Save and run the policy.
Result The Maxon App and Cinema 4D are installed silently on each targeted workstation with no automatic account sign-in. Cinema 4D is patched to automatically pull licensing once the end user signs in to the Maxon App manually.
+Option 3: Maxon App only with auto sign-in

This method silently installs only the Maxon App and automatically signs in using the provided credentials (via a tokenized password). Cinema 4D is not installed. Use this for workstations where you only need the Maxon App but still want the licensing step handled automatically by the administrator.

Steps

  1. Download and extract the zip: Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App Only with Auto-Login).zip
  2. In Jamf Pro, go to Settings → Computer Management → Scripts → New.
  3. Upload the Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App Only with Auto-Login).sh script.
  4. Add the parameter labels listed above.

    • Under Scripts, add Maxon Jamf Deployment (Maxon App Only with Auto-Login).sh.
    • Set the parameters (see Script parameters above).
    • Scope the policy to the desired group or groups.
  6. Save and run the policy.
Result The Maxon App is silently installed on each targeted machine and automatically signed in with the provided credentials. Cinema 4D is not installed, but the Maxon App is fully licensed and ready for any future manual product installations.
+Option 4: Maxon App only WITHOUT auto sign-in

This method silently installs only the Maxon App. Cinema 4D is not installed, and no sign-in is performed. Use this for workstations that only need the Maxon App, or when you want users to authenticate with their own Maxon accounts.

    • Scope the policy to the desired group or groups.
  6. Save and run the policy.
Result The Maxon App is installed on each targeted machine with no sign-in performed and Cinema 4D not installed. Users can launch the Maxon App and sign in with their own Maxon accounts when ready.
