This error message typically means PluralEyes is unable to access where the temporary files or project files are stored.
There are two main culprits for this problem:
- There are file permission issues with where the temporary files or project files are stored. Macs have file permission set on every file and folder within their OS which can be adjusted for a myriad of reasons-- especially with external/network drives, causing problems with applications like PluralEyes. Head into the Preferences menu and move your project/temp file directory to someplace on your local drive (like your Desktop).
- There is a special character (/, $, #, @, etc.) somewhere within the file path or filename of the temporary files or project files are stored. Review where you've got your temporary files or project files are stored, remove/replace the special character in question.
Please note: PluralEyes has been discontinued as of February 1st, 2024. We cannot offer additional technical support should issues persist. More details can be found at this FAQ.
