New Layouts - Switching to Old Layouts in Cinema 4D R25 and newer.

Cinema 4D R25 introduced a new UI scheme and layouts with improvements such as Dynamic Palettes and Hot Corners for Managers. If you prefer the classic layout or need to follow older tutorials, we have an option to switch between the new and legacy layouts.

Switch between new and legacy layouts

  1. In the upper-right of Cinema 4D, click the three-dot menu and choose Legacy Layouts.
  2. When enabled, the legacy layouts appear along the top bar.

Switch between new and legacy layouts

  1. Click the New Layouts Toggle in the top‑right corner of the interface.
  2. When the toggle is off, the legacy modeling layouts appear along the top bar.

Show or hide layout tabs

Click the menu button next to the toggle to open a list of available layouts, then enable or disable the ones you want to display on the Layouts Bar.

Save and load layouts

You can save new layouts and load previous layouts from the same menu.

Notes

  • Pre‑R25 custom layouts require the New Layouts Toggle to be set to Off to work correctly.
  • Example — Off position: New Layouts Toggle in Off position
