Your Team Render host, either Cinema 4D or Team Render Server, stores a list of all client systems added to your render farm. This list is saved in the host application's preferences folder.
If you move to a new computer, reformat the current computer, or reset or delete the preferences, the saved client list will be removed.
To help you preserve this information, both Cinema 4D and Team Render Server can export the client list to a text file. You can later import that file to restore the list on the same host or on a new system.
Save your machines list
Open the section for the app you use as your Team Render host.
Save the list from Team Render Server
- Open Team Render Server.
- In the machines view, open the Machine menu.
- Select Save Machines....
- Select a location for the
.txtfile, then save it.
Do not keep the file on the render host. If that computer fails, the file goes with it. A network share or a second computer is safer.
Team Render Server > Machine > Save Machines...
Save the list from Cinema 4D
- Open Cinema 4D.
- Select Render > Team Render Machines.
- In that window, open the Machine menu.
- Select Save Machines....
- Select a location for the
.txtfile, then save it.
Cinema 4D > Render > Team Render Machines > Machine > Save Machines...
Restore your machines list
- Open Team Render Server. In Cinema 4D, select Render > Team Render Machines.
- Open the Machine menu.
- Select Load Machines....
- Select the
.txtfile that you saved. - Wait a few seconds while the host works through the list.
If no Security Token changed after you exported the file, your clients come back verified. You can render immediately. If a token did change, enter the new token for that machine, then export a new file.
